The Single-Family Villa Lodges are inspired
to provide vacationers with a restful and peaceful retreat
into nature enveloped by the refuge of the forest. Standing on a stone covered ground,
it’s easy to imagine how the shear volume of wood and foliage allows you to melt and
blend as one with the environment. Large windows adorned with beautifully crafted
mullions offer truly spectacular views of the St-Lawrence River and l’Isle-aux-Coudres,
scenic sunrises and sunsets, a natural forest, and the snow-covered mountains of the
Massif de la Petite-Rivière-Saint-François.
Two- or four-sloped shingled roofs with
angular configurations that are at times symmetrical and at
other times asymmetrical; a generous fireplace, usually made
of stone, rises toward the wooden, interior roof that personifies
the country-like hideaway feel of the Villa Lodge.
The principal body of the refuge is monolithic, although some
volumes of growth can be seen around the veranda, the hunter’s
room, or the lodge’s summer kitchen.
